Building with Sequences
A Sequence is a clip and everything designed on top of it — text, images, shapes, icons — saved as one reusable block. Instead of rebuilding the same intro for every video, you build it once and drop it in.
What a Sequence is for
Say you've designed a clip with a title, a logo and a lower third arranged just so, and you want that exact look in other projects. Recreating it by hand each time is slow and drifts out of consistency. Saving it as a Sequence fixes both.
Teams get the most out of this: one person designs the branded intro, everyone else reuses it.
Note: Sequences don't include audio. If your clip has audio and you save it as a Sequence, it saves without it.
Save a Sequence
Start from a clip that already has its overlays arranged the way you want.
1Select the clip on the timeline along with its overlays.
2Choose the option to save it as a Sequence.
3Give it a name you'll recognise later — "Brand intro", "Client outro".
It's then available in your Sequences shelf across all your projects.
Build a branded intro
An intro is usually a placeholder clip in your brand colour, your logo, and a title.
1Insert a placeholder clip at the start of your timeline and set its colour. See Insert a placeholder clip .
2Add your logo and title text, and position them.
3Set the clip duration — 2 to 4 seconds is usually right for an intro.
4Save it as a Sequence so every future video can start the same way.
Build an outro
Same approach at the other end. An outro typically carries a call to action — a website, a social handle, a subscribe prompt — over a solid or branded background. Build it once, save it as a Sequence, and append it to each video.
Combine Sequences from different templates
Sequences are what templates are made of, so you can mix them. Open one template, save the sequence you want, then open another and add it alongside — the intro from one design and the outro from another, in a single video.
