Typito Nonprofits Program: Eligibility Guidelines

Please refer to the information below to know about our eligibility guidelines for our Nonprofit Program.

Organizations that are eligible for Typito’s Nonprofit Program:

  • Organizations that have a 501(c)3 designation. They must have obtained recognized charitable status/documentation in their respective country

As of today, following organizations are not be eligible for Typito’s Nonprofit program:

  • Governmental organizations or agencies (federal, state or local)
  • K-12 schools, colleges and universities. Acceptable exceptions include independent charter schools
  • Commerce and trade associations without charitable aims or activities benefitting non-members
  • Fiscally sponsored organizations
  • Political and labor organizations
  • Individuals

Required documentation when applying for Typito’s Nonprofit Program

UNITED STATES

  • Organizations recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations formed for charitable, educational, religious, literary, scientific, or other tax-exempt purposes.
  • Organizations under group exemption (ie. Churches) must still obtain recognition of 501(c)(3) tax exemption from the IRS.

CANADA

  • Canadian Charities registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
  • Canadian Federal Non-profits registered with Industry Canada
  • Canadian Provincial Non-profits registered with their corresponding provinces or territories.

ARGENTINA

  • Association/Foundation Registration Certificate from Ministry of Justice (IGJ Reg)
  • Civil/simple Certification of Registration from Administracion Federal De Ingreos Publicos, Human Rights Cert – CN number

AUSTRALIA

  • Charities registered with the Australian Charities and Nonprofits Commission (ACNC)
  • Income tax exempt not-for-profit organizations as defined by the ATO.

AUSTRIA

  • Koerperschaften des oeffentlichen Rechts, Verein, Stiftung öffentliches Recht, Stifung kirchliches Recht, treuhänderische Stiftung, gGmbH, gAG, gUG, gemeinnützige genossenschaften (gGen), or Koerperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts (KdÖR).

BANGLADESH

  • Registered with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
  • Registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare as a Social Development Organisation

BELGIUM

  • Certificate of Registration; Cabinet of Belgium – Dutch: Vereniging Zonder Winstoogmerk (VZW), Certificate of Registration; Moniteur Belge – ASBL Association sans but lucratif, Articles and Memorandum of Association

BERMUDA

  • Tax Exempt Registration from Registrar General, NPO Certificate of Registration, Articles and Memorandum of Association

BOLIVIA

  • NPO Registration Certificate from Director General del Registro de Asocaciones y or Certificate of Foundation Registration from Fundaciones Sins Fines de Lucro

BOSNIA AND HERSGOVINA

  • Minister of Justice, NPO/Association Registration Certificate, Articles and Memorandum of Association

BOTSWANA

  • Registered societies/non-profit organizations (NPOs), companies pursuing activities described in Section 31 of the Companies Act, 2007, as amended, or trusts operating on a non-profit basis for the public benefit.

BRAZIL

  • Registration Certificate for Associations, Foundations, PBO from Ministry of Justice/Interior

BULGARIA

  • Non-profit legal entities in public benefit (юридически лица с нестопанска цел за общественополезна дейност) registered in the Central Registry of Public Benefit Organizations maintained by the Ministry of Justice.

BURKINA FASO

  • Certificate of Registration as NPO/NGO, Articles and Memorandum of Association

CAMEROON

  • Certificate of Registration as NPO/NGO from Council of Ministries, Articles and Memorandum of Association

CHILE

  • Certificate of NPO Registration from Ministry of Justice/Interior

COLOMBIA

  • Certificate of NPO Registration from Chambers of Commerce

COSTA RICA

CYPRUS

CZECH REPUBLIC

DENMARK

  • Associations (foreninger), foundations (stiftelser), institutions (institutioner), or religious communities (religiøse samfund) approved by the Ministry of Taxation

ECUADOR

  • Certificate of Social” Charitable Registration number from IRS

EGYPT

  • Certificate of Registration as NGO, Articles and Memorandum of Association

ESTONIA

  • Certificate of Registration from Country Courts, Articles and Memorandum of Association

FINLAND

  • Non-profit associations (rekisteröity yhdistys), foundations (säätiöt), or religious communities (uskonnollinen yhdyskunta) registered with the National Board of Patents and Registrations.

FRANCE

  • Nonprofit or nongovernmental organizations established pursuant to association loi 1901 or fondation loi 1987 and registered in the “Journal Officiel des Associations” or any other French legal publication.

GERMANY

  • Associations, Foundations, or other non-profit legal entities that possess public benefit (Gemeinnützigkeit), charitable (Mildtaetigkeit), or Religious (Kirchliche) status and/or are operating on a non-profit basis for the public benefit.

GHANA

  • Certificate of NGO Registration from Registrar General’s Department, Articles and Memorandum of Association

GREECE

  • Certificate of Registration as NPO/NGO from Ministry of Finance, Official Government Journal, Articles and Memorandum of Association

GUATEMALA

  • Certificate of NPO/NGO Registration from local Government

GUYANA

  • Certificate of NPO/NGO Registration from local Government

HONDURAS

  • Registration Certificate for Associations, Foundations, PBO from Ministry of Justice/Interior

HONG KONG

  • Nonprofit, non-governmental organizations or trusts established by deed or otherwise and approved as charitable by the Inland Revenue Department under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance.

HUNGARY

  • NPO Certificate of Registration from Competent Registration Court, Articles and Memorandum of Association

INDIA

  • Registration Certificate of Trust or Society

INDONESIA

  • Foundations (Yayasan) or associations (Perkumpulan) approved as legal entities by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights

IRELAND

  • Specified Nonprofit Activity Corporations (NPOs) certified by the prefectural government or Cabinet Office
  • Social Welfare Corporations registered with the prefectural government and/or the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare
  • Public Interest Associations and Foundations authorized by the Public Interest Commission; or
  • General Incorporated Associations (nonprofit type) operating on a non-profit basis for the public benefit.

NAMIBIA

NETHERLANDS

  • Registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and able to specify non-stock, non-profit status through governing documents, a certificate of tax exemption issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and/or accreditation by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC).

POLAND

  • Public Benefit Organizations (Organizacja Pożytku Publicznego), foundations, or associations registered in the National Court Register (Krajowy Rejestr Sądowy – KRS) maintained by the Ministry of Justice.

PORTUGAL

  • Registration card of “Pessoa Colectiva”, Registration Certification from Ministry of Finance

PUERTO RICO

  • Tax Exempt Registration from Department of the Treasury, NPO Certificate of Registration, Articles and Memorandum of Association

ROMANIA

  • Organizations must be registered as associations, foundations, federations, or religious associations, and operating on a nonprofit basis for the public benefit.

RUSSIA

  • Certificate of NGO Registration from Ministry of Taxes, Law on legal entities registration, Articles and Memorandum of Association (translated)

RWANDA

  • Certificate of Registration from National Security Service or as NGO from Rwanda Directorate, Articles and Memorandum of Association

SAN SALVADOR

SCOTLAND

SERBIA

  • Non-profit or non-governmental organizations registered with the Commissioner of Charities and/or holding Institution of Public Character (IPC) status.

SOUTH AFRICA

  • Certificate of NGO Registration from Department of Social Development, Articles and Memorandum of Association, Certificate of Incorporation of a Company not having a share capital

SPAIN

  • Associations, foundations, or cooperatives with tax-deductibility registered with the Ministry of Interior or the Ministry of Culture, Education, and Sports.

SWEDEN

  • Associations, foundations, or religious communities eligible for income tax exemption under Chapter 7 of the Income Tax Act and/or operating on a nonprofit basis for the public benefit.

SWITZERLAND

  • Certificate of NPO Registration, “Gemeinnuetzigkeit”, “Stiftung”, CH number

TAIWAN

  • Non-profit or non-governmental organizations possessing a Notarized Certificate of Legal Entity and licensed by a department of the Central Government; or local organizations licensed by the relevant regional city or county government.

THAILAND

  • Registered with the Office of the National Cultural Affairs Commission in Thailand, under the Ministry of Culture, Articles of Association

TURKEY

  • Certificate of NPO or Public Benefit Organisation Registration from Council of Ministries, Articles and Memorandum of Association

UGANDA

  • NGO Registration Statue 1989, NGO Registration from Commisioner, Articles and Memorandum of Association

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

  • Certificate of NGO Registration from Local Government

UNITED KINGDOM
